This 10-day luxury safari takes you deep into Uganda’s wild heart, featuring gorilla trekking in Bwindi, chimpanzee tracking in Kibale and Kyambura Gorge, and thrilling game drives in Queen Elizabeth National Park, home to the famous tree-climbing lions.
Gorillas, Chimps, and Wildlife
Enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel and an optional visit to Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary. With expert guides, luxury lodges, and incredible birdwatching, this journey promises unforgettable wildlife encounters.

DAY 1
Entebbe
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by a Wild Frontiers representative and transferred to Hotel No.5, or similar, for overnight. Spend the rest of the day at leisure to explore the town of Entebbe.

DAY 2
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
This morning’s flight on a light aircraft to Kihihi airstrip takes just over an hour. Transfer through local villages and along mountain roads to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, a World Heritage site (a drive of +- 90 mins).
Considered the most diverse forest in Uganda, Bwindi is one of the richest ecosystems in East Africa and home to over 120 mammals, 345 species of birds, 200 species of butterflies and 160 species of trees.
The park contains an estimated one half of the world’s population of the endangered Mountain Gorilla, making it an extremely valuable conservation site. Overnight Buhoma Lodge.

DAY 3
Gorilla-Tracking
Today, embark on a once-in-a-lifetime trek to encounter mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest—an experience that is exhilarating, humbling, and unforgettable. Led by expert guides, you’ll navigate dense rainforest and steep mountain slopes in a trek that can range from 45 minutes to eight hours at high altitudes. While sightings aren’t guaranteed, success rates exceed 95%, making the effort truly worthwhile.
Permits are typically secured for Buhoma & Ruhija, with some treks requiring a short road transfer—offering an opportunity to explore more of the region. Depending on availability, your tracking experience may take place on
Day 3 or 4.
After your trek, return to Buhoma Lodge for a complimentary massage or explore the local Bwindi community.

DAY 4
Exploring Bwindi
Guests with pre-purchased permits will embark on a second gorilla trek, while others can explore Bwindi through optional activities.
Optional Extras:
Enjoy a forest walk with expert guides, spotting birds and monkeys in the lush rainforest, or take a village community walk, visiting local schools, an orphanage, or a banana brewing demonstration. For a deeper cultural experience, join a Batwa Cultural Encounter, where you’ll meet Batwa elders, learn survival skills, and discover their rich traditions.

DAY 5
Queen Elizabeth National Park
This morning, depart Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for Ishasha, the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park (2–3 hours), stopping en route at a community project near Ishasha Village. Nestled in the Great Rift Valley, Ishasha is home to diverse wildlife, including elephants, leopards, hippos, buffalo, and Uganda kob.
The highlight of the region is its tree-climbing lions, often seen lounging in fig trees. Enjoy an afternoon game drive, searching for these iconic predators along with large herds of buffalo and elephants. Enhance your stay with an optional bush sundowner or bush breakfast in a stunning wilderness setting.

DAY 6
Queen Elizabeth National Park
Spend the day enjoying game drives in the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, rounding things off with scenic bush sundowner, including drinks and snacks. Enjoy a glass of wine or Gin & Tonic while overlooking the beautiful park.

DAY 7
Mweya & Kazinga Channel Cruise
Head north to the Mweya sector of the park, a wildlife-rich region dotted with Uganda’s unique Euphorbia trees and framed by crater lakes and mountain ranges.
In the afternoon, enjoy a leisurely boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a 32km waterway linking Lake Edward and Lake George.
The shores are teeming with buffalo, hippos, elephants, crocodiles, and diverse birdlife, while local fishing villages offer a glimpse into daily life.
Overnight: Mweya Safari Lodge or similar.

DAY 8
Kyambura Gorge & Kibale Forest
Start the day with an exhilarating chimpanzee tracking experience in Kyambura Gorge, where the forest comes alive with wildlife. While chimps can be elusive, you may spot them feeding, resting, or moving swiftly through the canopy.
Afterward, take a scenic 3–4 hour drive to Kibale Forest, a diverse ecosystem of rainforest, grassland, and swamps, home to a rich primate population, including chimpanzees, colobus monkeys, and baboons, as well as over 300 bird species and 144 butterfly species.
Overnight: Primate Lodge (or similar).

DAY 9
Kibale Forest National Park
Your Kibale Forest chimp trek will generally take place in the morning. The forest is alive with noise! Chimpanzees can be quite active and may move quickly through the forest canopy… or, if you are lucky, you may find them resting or eating near the forest floors. It’s an exhilarating walk, in beautiful scenery. As with gorilla tracking, sightings cannot be guaranteed even though the chimps are habituated to humans. Rest of the day at leisure.

DAY 10
Return to Entebbe
Depart after an early breakfast for the drive back to Entebbe, arriving late afternoon.
