DAY 6 - 7

Damaraland to the Skeleton Coast

Depart Hoanib Valley Camp early for a scenic drive along the Hoanib River toward the coast, with chances to spot giraffes, oryx, and possibly elephants. After a coffee stop, continue north across open plains to the Hoarusib River, where the landscape dramatically shifts. Driving along the riverbed, you’ll reach Leilandsdrift, where you’ll meet the Shipwreck Lodge Guide.

Enjoy a picnic lunch while your luggage is transferred before continuing the final stretch. The last 1.5 hours reveal ever-changing scenery—rock formations, clay castles, and dunes—as you approach the coast.

This 6-hour journey (including stops) is in closed vehicles, allowing time for wildlife sightings and photography.

Spend two nights at Shipwreck Lodge on a fully inclusive basis, with activities like sundowner drives, beach lunches, fishing, dune quad-biking, or a full-day excursion to Mowe Bay and the seal colony.
